you make my bones ache

i wrote a story today. i didn't plan what to write. the words just fell from my pen onto the page. i don't know who i was channelling but i couldn't tell if what i was writing about was an experience of my own, someone else's, or maybe everyone all together. maybe i wrote about what the entire world was thinking and feeling and wishing and wanting and dreaming. i wonder if i could turn back time and do something different - would it have turned out the same? would you have changed as much as you did? the memories i have are so painful for me to remember but at the same time they are the only link i have to realising that what happened between us was real and not a faraway dream.

sweet sad song

This is quite accurately how I feel right now. I'm worn down to the bone but still somehow have the energy to make it to a scenic spot to crash. This saturday I'm going out to dinner in leederville with my girls, should be a good night. I have so much crap to do before holidays arrive. When they do come there are three ways I need to be spending my time:

1) making money
2) doing homework
3) having a social life seeing as I won't be able to have one for the rest of the year.

Somehow I'm going to have to strike a balance between the three. I'm worried that I will spend the holidays just fitting in all the stuff I have to do and I won't actually get around to relaxing and taking some time to just chill - which is what the holidays are ACTUALLY FOR. Sigh(duck).

Speaking of sighduck I miss my best friend.

i survived the great storm of perth

a couple images from the storm perth is currently in... the UWA architecture library and the subiaco train station. my dining room is completely flooded... my dog had to swim to her food bowl ahaha. my suburb is holding up quite well, as the pictures above indicate it is a lotttt worse than what mt lawley is going through. i love this weather though, it's so exciting :)

cobras never say die

so many things are piling up, i've done this stupid thing i always do of biting off more than i can chew. i need to learn to pace myself. somehow i got roped into joining the debating team, which i'm actually happy about because i've missed debating, but i'm just not sure how i'm going to fit in meetings, debates and writing the speeches amidst all the other shit i have to do.

last night me and my best friend went to go see cobra starship at the astor theatre. it was absolutely amazing. amy meredith was really good and owl city was fairly decent, a good interlude seeing as the crowd started getting pretty rowdy after amy. after owl city left and they were setting up the stage for cobra i blacked out in the moshpit, something i've come close to but never actually done. evie was a fucking champion, she dragged me out of there and revived me, what a hero :) after i came out we went straight back in and waited for a bit until cobra came out, definitely in my top five concerts, it was amazing. when it finished we were drenched in sweat and waited outside for about an hour until they came out for a meet and greet. the smile on our faces after we left still hasn't really faded, best day ever. :)

bambi autumn 2010

i'm not the usual the type of girl who gets excited about fashion and runs down to sportsgirl to buy the latest trends - but particular pieces or lines make me sweat with excitement, such as jean-charles de castelbajac's latest show in paris, obviously inspired by bambi. i think they're aboslutely amazing and i would do horrible things to get my hands on that third dress. what do you think? would you wear this or not?

baby baby baby

i honestly don't care what anyone says, i reserve the right to like justin bieber. LOOK AT THAT FACE. he looks like a little pixie. his songs are catchy and fun, plus he's a cute little dancer:

honestly what's not to love? you should check out some of his acapella because its legitimately amazing. i for one think biebz is a little cutie :)

contortions

i'm so out of sorts lately. i just cannot get it together for some reason. it's driving me insane, i cannot get focused, i'm distracted by everything. there is so much muddle in my head i can barely remember my own name let alone what projects i have due at school, what i have to study for, what i'm doing on the weekend, who i have to call and rearrange things with, ARGGHH. i need to go for a good ride, get out on the cross-country course with soxy and rape some oxers. that's an awful expression isn't it? 'rape some oxers'. i should stop being so derro.

arts camp

got back from arts camp the other day. i had a surprisingly good time, photoshoots in dilapidated buildings, nonstop rehearsal, secret trapdoors with creepy newspapers, dance parties after lights out, early morning sunset shoots. the whole weekend was quite lovely, apart from a very small but rather nasty incident right at the end. i honestly don't understand boys. they're not happy when you don't like them, and then when you do they screw it up.

on the other side of things i am feeling very happy lately. school is trundling along okay i guess. riding is wonderful although i haven't gone in a couple weeks because i've been busy. summer is drifting away and so is my summer love, but it's time to bring in autumn's beautiful colours and a beautiful boy just right for the new season :)

alejandro

there are several things i love in life.

-showjumping: in my opinion, the only sport worth doing
-kissing: best way to spend a couple hours/days/weeks
-shoes: i wouldn't be a real girl if i didn't
-stupid pop music (eg. lady gaga, ke$ha, jay sean): i am loyal to fall out boy but you can't have a dance party to pete wentz's lyrics
-writing: if i didn't all this tension would build up inside me, its a good way to let things go and relax
-having a crush on someone: best feeling ever when they like you back :)
-getting my hair cut: the smell, the feel, the chatting, and how light your head feels after
-tea: what other beverage can adapt so easily, to heartbreaks, sadness, happiness and everything in between
-karri valley: the most beautiful place in australia, especially during winter

what do you love?

life and stuff

i'm losing everything these days. letters, stirrup leathers, my mind. it's ridiculous. can't believe its 2010. so strange. there is a lot i have to catch up on, a lot of people i need to talk to, and a hell of a lot of things i need to get sorted out. just thinking of everything i have to do nearly makes me break out in hives, i'm so behind on everything. it's insane that i let it get this bad. at least it's comforting to know i'm not the only one who has the debris of 2009 to sort through. it's already march and i've accomplished nothing. there's so much to do i think it's going to take the whole year just to get organised, and before i know it it's going to be 2011 and i'll have done nothing but sort out 2009 and 2010. i really need to start thinking about what i want to do next year after i leave school. should i apply to waapa, or should i stick with a journalism course, or should i go to tafe. i have no idea. i barely even know what i'm doing next weekend, let alone what i'm doing for the rest of my life. i have to sit down and figure it all out, right now. procrastination stops here.

actually thats probably a task better suited to another day.
maybe i'll just tackle my history homework instead.

horses + autumn = perfection

+

= bliss.

i love riding in autumn. the combination of cantering while leaves flutter in the air is so peaceful and beautiful. it's the best season for it. the weather is a perfect mix of cold and warm, so your jodhs keep your legs nice and cosy but you don't have to pile up on the jumpers so you don't freeze to death. one of the worst things about riding in winter is how cold your hands get; i don't know if you've ever tried to tighten a girth with numb fingers, but it's basically impossible. the metal turns into ice and the leather gets slippery with sweat and it's just a horrible combination designed by mother nature to torture riders. autumn, on the other hand - it's total bliss.
i've been trying to be more happy lately.
